Song Info: American rock band Survivor is the author of the song "Eye of the Tiger." The song was included as a single from their third album of the same name and served as the theme song for the 1982 movie Rocky III, which debuted a day before the single. Sylvester Stallone, the star, writer, and director of Rocky III, requested the recording of the song after Queen refused to let him use "Another One Bites the Dust," the song he had intended to use as the Rocky III theme. The song was written by Survivor guitarist Frankie Sullivan and keyboardist Jim Peterik.
